Lucy Geries Talgieh is a committed advocate for peace, gender equality, and inclusive governance.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from Bethlehem University and a Master’s in Democracy and Human Rights from Birzeit University—an academic foundation that informs her deep commitment to social justice, human rights, and participatory governance.
Elected to the Bethlehem City Council in 2017 and re-elected twice since, Lucy was elected Deputy Mayor in 2025. She has worked tirelessly to promote inclusive policies that uplift marginalized communities, particularly women. Her leadership connects grassroots activism with national and international mediation efforts, where she champions women’s rights, political inclusion, and justice for Palestine.
As a leading figure at the Wi’am Palestinian Conflict Transformation Center, Lucy advances the meaningful participation of women in peacebuilding and decision-making. Her work is rooted in the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, which she advocates through local and global platforms.
Lucy’s mediation efforts in the West Bank focus on building cooperation among divided communities. She is also a strong voice against domestic violence and works to empower women politically, socially, and economically.
Now a member of the Mediterranean Women Mediators Network, Lucy brings extensive experience in conflict transformation, policy advocacy, and inclusive peace processes. She continues to foster strong local-global collaborations to strengthen women’s leadership in conflict resolution and peacebuilding.
